Today military weapons in World War 2 can be found in museums throughout the world, but imagine how it was back in 1939 to 1945 when the Nazi soldiers fought in the war with their pistols armed, and destructive rocket launchers in hand. In order to fight this war they needed weapons to defend, or fight against their enemies. With countries having better weapons than others it made it easier to conquer anyone of their desires. Many unique weapons were built in very odd shapes and sizes, for many wars in the 18 and 1900’s. Some of the weapons I thought looked interesting in World War 2 were the Fallschirmjägergewehr 42, Racketenpanzerbuchse 54, and Mauser C96 which were some of the commonly known weapons in World War 2.
The Fallschirmjägergewehr 42 otherwise known as the FG 42 is a light machine gun produced by Nazi Germany during World War 2. This battle rifle weighs 9.3 pounds, its length is 37.2 inches long, and its barrel length is 19.7 inches long making more like a sniper for most of its users. The FG 42 also uses the cartridge 7.92*57mm Mauser which is a sharp, pointed bolt, that will most likely perce through its target.

The pistol was used in many wars such as World War 2, World War 1, and 16 other chaotic wars. The Mauser’s weight is 1,130 grams, its length is 312 millimeters, and its barrel length is 190 millimeters which makes it a fast and a deadly shot. It also uses the cartridge .357 Magnum which has a flat top, but the force of the bolt firing, causes it to penetrate through its target. The .375 Magnum that the Mauser C96 fires can also reach up to 150 near 200 meters long, which could still cause the shot to be deadly. Also the stock of the Mauser C96 is tilted to the side making it a good arm rest for its marksman. ¨For your Tomorrow we gave our today¨. Michael Kalashnikov’s challenge was to utilize skills from the engineering field to build a firearm that revolved around its bullet, and would be simple for the user to manipulate. The AK47 fires a 7.62x39 projectile, which is known to be an intermediate cartridge. This is created in such a way to have peak efficiency on human targets and not excessively strong, such as most military rounds used at the time. Such cartridges are made by making a bullet casing short and fat and making the rounds dimensions smaller, thus allowing more rounds to be held inside the firearm’s magazine (Wikipedia, AK-47). This allowed the AK platform to hold nearly three times as many rounds per gun than the average military rifle.…

Guns are used all around the world, but here in the United States, we need to keep our gun usage limited with gun laws. Gun laws are put into action to make sure firearms are used responsibly; however, people will always find a way to break these laws no matter how many are made. Our Second Amendment, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”, gives U.S. citizens the right to own a weapon and use it for the right reasons. Gun laws will not reduce the amount of gun deaths in the U.S. because gun laws do not determine crime; gun ownership determines crime numbers. There were 460,000 gun deaths in the U.S. between 1999-2013 and this was the 12th leading cause of death.…

Canada also produced a variant of the Sten submachine gun called the Sten Mark 2. This was made to compete against the German submachine gun, the MP-40. While the German guns were fast the Canadian Guns were slow but accurate. The Canadian army wanted a gun that could place its shots accurately without the high rate of fire and recoil that came with the German guns, giving the Canadians an advantage. While a German submachine gun was able to fire with great speeds, the Canadians had accuracy on their sides as they could pick off enemy troops without wasting as much ammunition.…
