With the long waiting lists and increasing deaths, don’t you agree that we need a solution, and fast? Tomorrow will be too late. We need it now. The previous speaker insisted that artificially manufactured organs and tissues would work just as well. Scientific evidence does not support this. Mechanical devices that replace the function of real organs experience numerous complications, particularly in relation to the heart [PLOS, 2007]. With all due respect to all prosthetic advancements that have saved or improved human life, there is still room for the consideration of xenotransplantation to save and improve even more lives. Xenotransplantation offers enhanced reliability when compared with mechanical devices. [Emotive language, research, question] Did you know that pigs’ heart valves have been used in human heart surgery for more than 30 years? So why not take this to new heights and increase human life expectancy. After years of research, scientists know that cloning of pigs will reduce rejection and stop the spread of disease and death [R. McLean, 2004]. Cloning annihilates all chances of rejection, by tricking the human immune system into accepting the new organ.
Now to my second point, another huge benefit of xenotransplantation is that it offers solutions for a wide range of chronic medical
