In the book Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood by Marjane Satrapi there is an inside look into the daily life in Iran during 1980 throw ten years old Maji. The main characters Maji believes that she “was born with Religion” and that she was the last prophet at the age of six (Satrapi 6). With that in mind you can see why she has a great relationship with god. In the book you will see young Marji is really talking to God. That all charges with a major event in her life that made her turn her back to God. With God in Maji life we see her innocents about what is going on in her country, but when she loses her faith in God she is also losing her innocents and is understanding and rebelling the people in power. When we first meet young Maji she believes that she “I was born with religion” and will become last prophet at a very young age (Satrapi 6). Wall Marji is a child she has many discussions with God nightly, which he appears in person, only she could see, and talk with her almost in a way like an imaginary friend would do when we were younger.
