On the 23rd of August in 2013, the company posted a picture of one of their milkshakes and asked “Which milkshake did you have today?”. The post received 116 comments, a number higher than their usual posts. The post is filled with people naming their favorite milkshakes: strawberry cheesecake, banana pudding, watermelon, and many other fan favorites. Other supporters praise the company: “I eat cookout 3-4 times a day when I 'm in charollete”. However the comment section is not without its typical criticism. A user states “I wish your milkshakes wer milkshakes.. love the variety.. jus more of ice cream in a cup..lol”. Cook Out’s milkshakes are generally thicker than what is typically considered a milkshake, and clearly not all customers desire this. “You need to give out spoons, they are so thick you cant drink them with the food..whats the purpose of getting one if you cant drink it ???? I leave it sit out for 2 hours and then i can drink it somewhat..”. This person was somewhat disgruntled by an experience in which they did not receive a spoon. Despite this, the general consensus of this post is positive. This advertisement uses pathos by appealing to everyone’s innate sense of hunger. The image of the milk shake can also conjure images of fun times in one’s youth. It 's a definite play on pathos. Ethos is evoked as well by showing their famous milkshake. They use their reputation as milkshake makers to engage fans, and perhaps attract new ones if they are to read the…

For example, in paragraph one sentence three, I said, “First, the person making the shake will need to gather a cup of the fresh strawberries and wash them with cold water to clean off any dirt or pesticides. It was just after the Christmas of 2009, when my friend’s father, Jeff, gave my father a call from about 200 miles north. He had called to ask if we wanted to join them at their holiday vacation rental up in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Of course, my father said yes. I was excited to go as well, because I knew my best friends, Jesse and Hannah, would be there, too. The night we arrived, Jeff suggested we enjoy some milkshakes in the city. I questioned his notion silently. “Milkshakes in December?” I…

It was a calm autumn night in October of 2010, and my sisters and I were just polishing off an exquisite dinner prepared by my mom. At the time, my oldest sister (Ellie) was 10, I was 8, Deirdre was 6, and Kathleen (my youngest sister) was 2. My dad hadn’t returned from his office, yet. After dinner, we decided to wash it down with an ice cold, creamy, chocolatey milkshake, She hauled the heavy blender out of the kitchen cabinet. The vanilla ice cream. The milk. The chocolate sauce…mmmm. While…

The Fish Milkshake This is a true story I like to tell that happened to me when I was 8 years old. I like to tell this story because it was a very embarrassing story, and embarrassing stories always make the best ones after they are all said and done. It all started the day after my birthday with my brother Quentin, my mother, and my grandmother. I was rocking my brand new orange and grey Nike Shox that I was gifted for my birthday and nothing was going to bring me down. The plan for my…

The third poem I wrote was a metaphoric writing poem, I appreciated writing this poem because it showed the value of my grandpa. I directly followed the format given for this poem so, I did not change the structure. The change I made to the beginning was very slight, I just made an addition by adding where the Black Tap milkshake is to give the readers a clearer understanding. At the end of the poem there was a modest change, I wrote out Alex Rodriguez's full name because I felt it was more…
