At the beginning of the eighteenth century, farming was the most dominant force of labor in England. An abundant, as well as reliable, supply of natural resources was vital to their industrial revolution. According to historian David V. C. Browne, “huge deposits of coal, iron, lead, copper, manganese, petroleum, and timber existed on the continent” (Browne 56), this was an abundance of resources that were not present in Britain. Further, the USA possessed vast geographical area, and as the population moved west, more land and resources were acquired. The significant difference between the USA and England that was the amount of land they possessed.
