In early childhood (preschool and early school years), if a child has a behavior within the normal range, then the child might run in circles, won’t stop to rest, may bang into things, and may start to ask questions constantly. These medications include amphetamine, dextroamphetamine or lisdexamfetamine. Several are available in extended release form. Another type of stimulant is Methamphetamine which is related to ephedrine and amphetamine, with CNS stimulant activity, which reduces appetite and can raise blood pressure. In ADHD, its mechanism of action is unknown. These tablets are taken one to two times daily.
