After conducting research Thomas E. Brown concluded that symptoms of ADHD can lead into early adulthood and will affect each person differently. Some children suffer because they are used to assistance from their parents and some transition into adulthood well. Challenges may be faced when starting college, starting a job, or even starting new relationships. These things can be challenging because a person suffering from ADHD may act impulsively and start making changes. Also they can choose to isolate themselves because going from receiving assistance to being on your own can be difficult. Children that suffer from ADHD usually receive treatment until the completion of high school. There has not been a cure found for ADHD but this is still a concern for many people. Dr. Russell Barkley believed that ADHD was an inherited disease that affected brain chemistry. There was no evidence found to support his evidence. John Rosemond reviewed a few researches and concluded that adding omega 3 fatty acids to a diet and removing processed foods, artificial colorings, and preservatives can ultimately decrease ADHD or possibly “cure” it. He stated, “a proper diet….has no side effects other than...improved mood, memory, focus, alertness and problem-solving.” Although a good diet may not be the cure for ADHD, it can possibly lead to long term focus and control opposed to the temporary focus that medication
