Brazil is a very large country and its people come from many different backgrounds. The cuisine of a country is determined largely by the societies, customs and traditions within that culture. Certain foods and ingredients also shows the culture of a country. Brazilian cuisine has European and African influences. It is known by region, showing the country's mix of native and immigrant peoples, and its continental size as well. This has created a national cuisine.
