Paul’s Warnings about Teachers
1st Timothy is essential his mentor Paul’s message to him to stay in the town of Ephesus to discredit the false and corrupted teachings there and to instill the true gospel. Paul bestows this hefty task on Timothy because he thinks highly of him and believes in his ability to handle what is asked of him.

1 Timothy Chapter 4
This chapter includes instruction to Timothy about his ministry. Paul says the Lord said that in later times many will abandon their faith and start following many deceiving spirits. They will be taught things by demons. These teachings would come from hypocritical liars that had consciences that had been seared just like a hot iron.
In Chapter 4 Paul tells Timothy that the Lord says in later times there will be many who will lose their faith and begin to entertain other false and deceiving teachings. People will be taught that marriage is forbidden and to avoid things that God has provided for Christians. All God has created is beneficial. God creates nothing bad and all he has provided should be received as a blessing from him.

Paul tells Timothy he expects him to preach the gospel and read the scripture aloud in public until he makes his arrival. Paul says to him to not disregard his gift that he was prophesized to have.
