Lastly, in verse 2, “convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching,” meant that in Timothy’s preaching, he was to bring the Word of God to abide on the lives of people. He was not to treat the Word as if it were a fairy tale or some made up stories to tell during story time, but instead he was to treat and preach the Word of God as it was and let God do the rest of the work.
