Dear Future Gateway Student
If you were like me, you’re probably pissed off over the fact that you have to waste your summer in school. Especially since I missed top ten percent by ONE person. I pictured spending the whole summer with my girlfriend, friends, and family. When I was first notified of my partial acceptance, I’m not going to lie, I was upset. I had debunked Texas A&M University as my number one choice for my post-secondary endeavors. Then, I realized that this opportunity was once in a lifetime, as you may know Texas A&M University is one of the best colleges in the World.
I anticipated for college students to be offensive and careless since I was an incoming freshman. However, it was the complete opposite, here at Texas A&M everyone is extremely nice, helpful, and welcoming. I actually first hand experienced the aggies kindness and careful personalities by accidentally losing my dorm key and wallet the first week of Gateway and getting both of my items returned within a day. Similarly, I envisioned college to be uncomplicated, undemanding, and unchallenging identically to High School. Yeah, don’t come in thinking you’re a genius, because you will be shocked. College is difficult. High school does not get you prepared whatsoever for college. Lastly, I expected to always be relaxing and having fun in my free time which was not the case here in A&M. …show more content…
I constantly told myself, this class is a joke, “easy A.” However, I acquired the best skills any college student could ever obtain, such as time management, studying/preparation strategies, and many other essential must know college tips for incoming college
