Experience Goal
Arriving in San Diego the prospective customer was hoping to organize a casual dinner for a group of twelve college students. Without much knowledge of the city the customer wished to find a convenient, affordable option which would contribute positively to the experience of all parties included. Not looking for a tourist-attraction or a chain restaurant, the options were limited to favorite local establishments within downtown San Diego. Ideally the restaurant would feature a broad menu, large portions, and would provide a unique dining experience. This selection criteria led the prospective customer to choose Sixth Avenue Bistro—a casual and contemporary family-style restaurant.

Located on the corner of Sixth Avenue and B Street in Downtown San Diego, the Bistro’s bay view windows act as big screen TV’s capturing the hustle and bustle of the Financial District outside. But if it’s a real big screen for the game you need, we have those too! (About Us, 16)
Restaurant Experience
Physical Facility
Entering Sixth Avenue Bistro the customer found the physical environment to be clean, orderly, and understated. The Bistro featured a take-out section directly across from the entrance, a full bar, and both outdoor and indoor seating. Inside, the furniture itself was slightly worn—wooden tables and chairs showed scratches while the benches had an occasional loose seam. The walls were each painted a different color and the room featured large open windows facing the downtown action. Condiments sat on each table along with a beverage menu, and a place setting at every seat.
