A basic human need was to eat and if the people could eat they could focus on other things that is if they had a steady supply of food like all of Eurasia did. Eurasia had wheat because their climate allowed them to grow it their and it wasn’t to harsh of a climate to grow it their unlike most of the world. In some places like papua new guinea it was a harsh jungle where no edible plants that were full of important nutrients making it to where those places had to focus on hunting and gathering making the people from papua new guinea nomads and never being able to settle down somewhere and not worry about if they are going to be able to eat the next day. Iron is the first step to making steel which proves to be a very important metal in the development of an advanced civilization. To make steel it required a lot of things including climate, dry wood, iron ore, hot fire, limestone. To be able to make steel a long time ago meant had to be very lucky in your geographic location because you needed a dry climate and you needed to be in a place where you could find iron ore. A lot of places were not that lucky sometimes getting one of the requirements but not having the other as some had the right climate but no iron and some had iron but not the climate making it unfair for some civilizations. One of the reasons why the spanish was able to invade the inca empire with ease was because of their far superior armor and weapons made of steel vs. the incas bronze. The incas had the right climate but they just didn’t have the right metal to work
