In The Most Dangerous Game there are many traumatic events that take place in the movie which are different than the story. The movie shows a better representation of the story and attracts more people because of all the action and flair that the movie has. The short story desperately needs for the story to be more interesting, also the movie works better than the story, by adding in scenes that helps improve the movie drastically which the short story lacked.
The first plot difference that took place between the movie and the short story is the ship wreck. In the short story and the movie Rainsford uses the ship to reach to the island. But how the ship crashed, it was different in both the story and the movie. In the story it states that the ship took off without Rainsford because Rainsford “moved quickly to the rail, mystified. At the end Rainsford snuck in and killed General Zargof. The movie was better in this case because its shows the chase of the hounds and how Rainsford tried to escape the hound by killing one of the hounds because the hound jumped on him. Than to escape Rainsford jumped of the water fall with eve to escape General Zargof. The suspense that the movie has adds flare and a lot of drama as well. is when Rainsford The second reason why this scene is better than the story is because when Rainsford jumped in the water fall this scene made people have suspense and gasp by say did he survive or not
