I will inform students about some of the different types of stretching besides dynamic stretching such as ballistic stretching or static. I will remind students/athletes that dynamic stretching can be used for warm up and for the cool down phase static stretching will be used. “To avoid decrease in strength and performance that may occur in athletes due to static stretching before competition or activity, dynamic stretching is recommended for warm-up (page).” After students/ athletes perform a series of various stretching movements their bodies will begin to warm up. I will lead the class in a demonstration that has students/ athletes spread out at arm’s length apart from each other. After guiding them through a series of stretching movements targeted for football I will review, reminding them dynamic stretching is used as a warm up that will help students/ athletes to increase their ROM often used in football. The hamstring, quadriceps, chest and abdominal stretches I utilize will help increase heart rate before the workout and loosen muscles before they perform the
