Also, the author can illustrate the importance of this ethics under Department of Defense Directive 5500.7, Standard of Conduct, which provides guidelines to military personnel on principles for behavior and ethics. The Department of Defense Directive stated that any military personnel that fails to follow policing and violates the code of ethics, shall be prosecuted under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (Department of Defense Directive, 2007). Commissioned Officers and Enlisted Soldiers will grasp a better understanding on this new tool and assist the Noncommissioned Corps on establishing standards and take ownership of the knowledge that is pertained to this ethics. Some Soldiers may not like change, but change can be a good thing as long as they are willing to give it a chance.
