The Northern Hemisphere has a variety of climates and topography. There is more land in the Northern Hemisphere compared to the Southern Hemisphere and other Hemispheres. The extra land plays a big role in the weather patterns of the Northern Hemisphere, as well as being in the North it adds to the harsher environments. One of my favorite geographical feature of Northern United States is the snowy environments and mountains. The mountains are some of the most beautiful geographical features in the United States in my opinion. They are vast and huge and consist of snowy weather patterns and get colder the higher you climb. It is fun to do sports on mountains as well, you can snowboard, ski, mountain climb, and much more! These states are Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and New Hampshire. All of these states we the original Northern states to be settled as colonies back in the seventeenth century. These states were the original 13 colonies at the time and they joined the United States upon independence in 1776. The Northwestern part of the Northern region of the united states is probably my favorite area in the North. One place that I would love to live in the north is Alaska. Alaska has very cool temperatures in the winter and even in the summer occasionally. Why I would love to live there is because it has snowy mountains and terrains for hunting that would be fun to live there and it would have a lot to do. It is the most Northwestern state of all the united states in America, so it is basically in Canada but still apart of America. Because it is so far up North it has the same weather patterns as it would in Canada. About half of the Alaskan residents live in the Anchorage metropolitan area. The total estimation of the residents in Alaska is around 738,432 people by the United States Census Bureau. Back in 1867 on March 30 the United states purchased Alaska from the Russian empire for 7.2 Million dollars. 7.2 Million dollars was worth a lot more in 1867 then today, but it still is a lot of money. The area went through several administrative changes
