It is an average day at Cumberland Elementary; my face warms from the sun gleaming through the windows, and I sit in my desk in Mrs. Huffman’s second grade classroom. Mrs. Huffman: I always thought her name alone reflects her personality all too well. Her hair was all different shades of deep blondes, but they all had ashy, bland undertones, rather than a warm soft blonde. Her hair stops at her collar, and is curly and thin. Her curls were small and separated, giving her hair too much volume. She puts too much gel in her curls, leaving them crunchy like straw. Protruding bangs cover her forehead, for it was fairly large to leave. They came just to above her eyebrows which were sparse and blunt; they had a strong arch, poorly framing her eyes and glasses. Her dull oval glasses encase the small beads of eyes she locks on me; the blue of them couldn’t help to liven her face. Her face was quite the opposite of Jensen’s: bigger around her cheeks and jawline and narrow near her forehead. She rarely smiles; if she does it’s still not genuine. She towers over us second graders, and her broad shoulders frighten me; I'm sure they threaten most. Today she wears a high collared sweater and dark wash jeans with black clog like shoes. She walks with her shoulders down and good posture, contributing to her intimidating look. She stands often with her weight on one leg, indicating her annoyance any particular day. But today, she stands with her weight even on both legs, leaning forward on her desk using her hands to support
