Friendliness is inseparable from courtesy. And courtesy demands a considerate and friendly behaviour towards others.
For example, if I have overlooked or failed to do something, I would express my regrets promptly and sincerely and make up for the oversight at the earliest.
If the oversight is on the part of someone else and they regret it, promptly tell him that you do not mind.
The same goes if a client or colleague does a favour for me, I would acknowledge it promptly and thank the person generously for being kind.

Verbal communication: Both oral and written communication. Oral communication is spoken words which are used in a communication process.
Non-Verbal communication: overall body language, body posture, hand gestures, facial expressions.
