It is not common to find a drastic separation between the rich and the poor; however, this difference is much greater than those in the United States. It is undeniably true that PharmaCARE has benefited financially from the nation of Colberia. These indigenous people sacrificed their land and lives to benefit PharmaCARE. The preposterous bonuses its top executives have received from their earnings do not seem to match the fact that most of the workers who are living in huts with no electricity or running water. How can PharmaCARE state that its actions are ethical when they are abolishing the environment where these people will continue to live after they have profited from its resources? One of the biggest concerns is the effect on the environment in Colberia. To remain morally and ethically sound, the company should invest monies into the regrowth of trees and plants to ensure the state of Colberia is left the way they found it. The indigenous people of Colberia live off of the land and its resources it provides. When the company demolishes large sections for the company, it is hurting the environment and people that live there. PharmaCARE gives money to educational programs and scholarships in the United States. In order to establish an ethical ground, I think the company should invest in outreach programs for the country. It would be great to see the people of Colberia given schools, educational supplies, and resources. They could create volunteer work for people to give back to Colberia,
