In the characterization element, the writers really executed bringing the characters to life. They use a lot of descriptive words when explaining what characters look like. The only criticism for their characterization, is the fact that they would announce who characters are after they talked. This can confuse a listener because a new voice with no information on who they are, can be very confusing. Another aspect to look at, is the conflict/tension element. There is a lot of this element in this podcast, but it never gets resolved. Which, can be really frustrating to a listener. For example, the tension between the family of Adrien’s family and the rest of the town is never resolved. For the last 44 years, there is tension between these two groups, and it is never resolved. As a listener, this can be really frustrating because not having things resolved, can almost cause discomfort to the listener. There are many other side stories in this podcast that have a lot of conflict and tension, which makes the podcast harder to listen to. For future for this podcast, the problems that arose in the episode, should be resolved by the end of the episode.
Overall, Someone Knows Something is a podcast with major potential. If the producers went back to fix their audio clips and sounds production element, their small voice mistakes, and their characterization and conflict/tension narrative elements, the podcast can really be quite amazing.
