For this case, we are going to assume we already know information about our employees and we are going to focus on the other three steps. What are the learning objectives? We want to train the employees to efficiently and effectively use the electronic time keeping system. This will create a faster, more cost efficient way of tracking time and paying the employees. The disadvantage might be in today’s technology world, we know computers go down, data can be lost, output is only as good as the input, so we need to be ready for any problems which may arise. How comfortable are we, the trainers, with the training method selected? Maybe our personality best fits another method and we would be more comfortable using it, or we need more practice using the method which is best for our situation. Looking at our options, we have concluded that conducting experiential activities would be the best choice. Why choose experiential activities over lecturing or group discussion? It’s not that any single method is better than another; just that one method is better suited for a given situation.
