The Showa Period was the beginning of Japan’s noncompliance with The League of Nation. They felt racial discrimination and separated themselves from the League. This was Japan’s turning point in its independence from Western society. Japan’s dislike towards the United States geared their focus to collaborating with Germany and Italy to boycott oil from America by capturing oil rich territory, Indonesia. During this battle, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941.
