The was a sole act of Rebellion against the Proclamation of 1763. Many Americans, some disguised as Mohawk Indians, whose sole purpose was to resist British law, went to Griffin’s Wharf where they boarded three British vessels, cracked open over 300 barrels of English tea and poured the contents into the Boston Harbor. (Brinkley, p33-34) The other colonies quickly found out and began their own tea parties. This action was meant to do away with the taxes the British had imposed. The British tried to fight back by closing the harbor until the money lost from the tea was repaid, but they were unsuccessful causing protest. The Continental Congress met and requested the British commander strike at the New England rebels. (Brinkley, p33-34) Thus the start of bloodshed and the American Revolution. The American Revolution was a major turning point in the Independence of the United States. There are several events that led up to the Revolution; however, I feel there are three events that solely sparked the start of this war: Proclamation of 1763, the Stamp Act, and the Tea Act of 1773. Each of these events took part in making changes of how things were done and accomplished different things, but all were played a vital role in getting things
