The most common disease( known for memory loss) is called Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s is a mental disease that causes you to lose memory & often takes place in those of middle to older age due to degeneration of the brain. Head injuries can occur during car accidents, sports injuries, or similar events. When something like this occurs, brain tissue can be damaged or torn apart. Thus causing memory loss (short & long term).
Memory loss can also be a result of anxiety & depression(Memory Loss: When to Seek Help). In fact, most people experience memory loss from stress rather than from Alzheimer’s. The anxiety/stress is usually caused by work, financial issues, & family issues (divorce, loss of loved one, etc.) As of today, there is not a cure for long term memory loss. We cannot control whether we have/ will have memory loss. It's a very frightening thought that maybe one day we won't be able to remember our loved ones without a constant
