When I was a kid I often traveled to the beach with my family. My uncle and I spent endless hours creating some of the most complex sand castles. The castles had intricate designs with golden bridges creating our beloved kingdom. I believed the sand castles had become a permanent part of the world and would be there forever. The inevitable waves soon came and attacked the kingdom taking every last piece of grain back into the ocean.

I was intrigued and excited for our next activity. That day we laid on the grass cutting out different pictures of fruits, vegetables, houses, computers, and cars. We messily cut around the pictures and glued them on to the index cards. After each card had a picture on it, I decorated the edges with hot pink glitter and rhinestones. After we finished decorating the cards we started to play a made up game called “What is That?” The goal of the game was for me to correctly pronounce the name of the picture. Every time I pronounced the name of the picture correctly I was given a new shiny penny to add to my light pink piggy bank.
