I have often entertained the idea of becoming a doctor or nurse. As a teenager, I should have done more to prepare myself for that path but I never took it seriously. Now, I would like to try to get back on track and live out my dream in an attainable way. I cannot devote time, money, and energy into becoming a doctor but I can still work in the medical field. The assistant helps to assess, exam, and treat patients. The following skills such as good communication, active listening, multi-tasking, administrative, computer literacy, phlebotomy testing, EKG testing, vitals, and physical health testing are skills of great importance. I am a great listener and communicator and have a knack for learning new skills. I started my new journey at Mildred Elley College in the clinical medical assisting program. Along with other core classes, this program teaches skills such as patient care, medical terminology, and certification in drawing blood and performing EKG testing.
