What is a synergist? |
Muscles that tend to function groups to accomplish specific movements. Ex. Deltoid, biceps brachii and pectoralis major all help to flex the shoulder. |

What is a antagonist? |
The opposed muscle or group of muscles. Ex. In elbow flexion, the biceps brachii is the agonist (flexes) whereas the triceps brachii is the anatagonist (extends), roles are reversed. |

What is a fixator? |
The stabilizers of prime movers (usually holding one bone in place while relative to the body while a more distal bone is moved) ex. When moving the humerus, the muscles of the scapula act as fixators to hold scapula in place. |
