- 60 metres long - 8mm diameter - Snap hook at the running end - Long and short tabs every 2.5 metres - long tabs indicating the way in and short knotted tabs indicating the way out |

- used where no other means of safely seraching large open areas that are heavily smoke logged - premises are flooded and hose lines are submerged - buildings with a complex layout - enables a team to retrace their steps to the entry control point - enables subsequent teams to locate scene of operatoons or other crews |

- 6 metres lomg - karabiner on the running end - split into 1.25m and 4.75m sections by a D ring attached to a tenax clip - attached to the waist belt with a snap hook and split ring |
