Rising Meter and Falling Meter |
Rising meter: a meter whose movement rises from an unstressed syllable or syllables to a stressed syllable. Iambs and anapests Ex: Forget and Detroit
Falling Meter: the first syllable is accented, followed by one or more unaccented syllables. Trochees and dactyls. Ex: Comedy and Awful
