The first thing that happens is endoarteritis where you have damage to vessel interior by the larvae.
When this happens you got clots that form called thrombosis. From here one of two things can happen. Either you get a thrombus that completely occludes the artery and an aneurysm develops and eventually ruptures or the thrombus breaks off into pieces and the clots lodge into the small vessels most commonly in the large intestines and the rear legs. If the blood supply is interrupted to the intestines that it will lead to a Thrombembolic colic. |
