In what kinds of anemia is Iron used to treat?

Nausea, vomiting, black stool.

Pain, tissue staining, fever, anaphylaxis (generally an option only if pt can't tolerate oral)

Atrophic glossitis, chronic gastritis, leucopenia with hypersegmented neutrophils. Common in gastric resection patients

Why must you use B12 in B12 deficient patients and not Folate
|
Because while it will reverse the anemia it will not help to treat sub acute combined degeneration

|
bone pain, splenic rupture, anaphylaxis

Fever, Arthralgia, Myalgia, Edema, Pleural Effusion, Anaphylaxis
