What is a crucible and why is it important?
It's an object used to melt ores together and create alloys (high silica pottery). It has a melting temperature of 3,800 degrees Fahrenheit and is 2"-3" thick. (The melting temp of copper = 1,000F; bronze = 1350F, iron = 1800F, and steel = 2000F) So, this was used a lot.

How was bronze made?
2 parts copper and 1 part tin was put into the crucible. Then, a silica was put on top to seal it in and reduce impurities. Then, the crucible was put into a forced induction furnace and burned to melting temperature to create bronze.
