This paper is about Marie Antoinette being au courant. Marie Antoinette, a former princess of Austria who was transformed into an extravagant French queen. Her destiny was to marry Louis-Auguste at the age of fourteen after which she ruled France and learned to fashion herself; thus, spending too much. However, she never troubled to ask or wonder who was paying for the luxuries she took for granted. She was a scapegoat. People blamed her for being extravagant, and yes she was.

Marie Antoinette’s education was focused primarily on religious and moral principles, while her brother studied more academic subject matter. She and her siblings would perform (singing and dancing) for the court. But the young archduchess had to study too even though she wasn’t that interested about it. She was educated for she needs to perform gracefully at court events. Her way of life in Austria was pretty simple. Her parents were so busy that her education was neglected, and her governess spoiled her. She hated reading and showed no interest in geography or history; thus, at the age of thirteen, she could not read nor write well and did not know much history either. Her French was not that fluent and was full of German constructions and phrases. Yet, despite of her inability to read or write well, she excelled in dancing, loved embroidery, and learned to play the harp well. Her mother, Maria Theresa neglected her thinking she was no good.
