Beta Leadership Camps Analysis

What is a leader? Is a tyrant like Gengis Khan, a "Mongolian warrior and ruler... [he] created the largest empire in the world..., by destroying individual tribes in Northeast Asia."He fiercly lead his people into battle, and he stopped at nothing that got in his way. Or, is it someone like Queen Elizabeth I, who "was able to choose excellent advisors and statesmen, but was not being dominated by them. [She] was firmly in control of all major policies and England prospered under a stable Government." She was a graceful ruler who managed one of the greatest empires the world has ever seen. Maybe George Washington? He was in control of a new nation, and was a commander in chief during the revolutionary war, who didn't just watch the battle from the sides, but actively fought for his country and …show more content…
They're constantly growing as people through the summer programs and conventions that are hosted. As described on the Beta Club website, "Beta Leadership Camps offer experiences that build confidence and character. Students will be motivated, inspired and changed as they interact with other Beta members from across the nation and form bonds that last a lifetime." Conventions are also excellent as well. Not only do they provide a healthy competitive environment to students so they can work to improve themselves, it also inspires students who aren't even involved in the organization! According to one Beta Club Sponsor from Louisiana, "Our students were able to enter competitions at the convention and their excitement and eagerness was definitely evident. Upon returning to school, they informed other students about their educational excursion and the effect was contagious - others wanted to know how they can become members! Beta has opened the door for them to express themselves in ways which are not often feasible during the regular instructional day!!" Through these programs, students get much needed learning
