Courses that can be taken for counseling psychology include behavior analysis, abnormal psychology, personality theory and systems, and many more courses. According to O*NET some of the skills needed to become a counseling psychologist are active learning, giving and paying special attention to what someone else is saying. Another skill is service orientation, where you actively looking for ways to help people.
