Roman Legacies
During around the mid-700’s BC, a very small group of people called the Latins, had settled to form a small town near the Tiber River. This town would later grow into a mighty civilization, and would grow largely all throughout the Mediterranean Sea. Since Rome was also very efficient, Rome had affected us today as a country through their government, science, and art, which helps to prosper in our everyday lives.
One of Rome’s important achievements was their government. This was super important because this was a main factor towards their success. In their government, the Romans had created something called the written laws. This also is something that we use in our government too. However, these laws had created less chaos …show more content…
This was something major towards the Roman community because of their inventions, such as medicine. This invention had benefited their society just like scientists wanted to do. Also with their invention of medicine, it had saved lives towards the Roman people. Another important thing about science that helped many people prosper was the study of stars. With this study, scientists had created was calendars, which is something we use still today. Then lastly, another important thing about science, is their study of plants and animals. The reasons why they did this was to obtain better crops and meat. This was a major thing that scientists did, which also helped the Romans prosper.
Then lastly, the last main achievement that the Romans had, was art. In art, the Romans were very successful. One thing that the Romans had succeeded in was mosaics. These mosaics were used to decorate Roman buildings. Another work of art that the Romans were good at was painting. Just like the mosaics, paintings were also used to decorate Roman buildings as well. Then finally, the last thing that the Romans did good at in art was making portraits. Their portraits of people had looked almost real, which had showed how talented they were in
