As a student I spend a lot of time sitting down whether it be in classes or to do homework. For that reason, I find that there are days in which I do not move nearly as much as I need to. Regular physical activity can help control weight, reduce risk for cardiovascular disease, reduce risk for type two diabetes, strengthen muscles and bones, and much more (CDC, 2015).

However, after the first week I found that with minimal effort I could easily accomplish my goal. For that reason, I changed my goal to completing 15,000 steps a day for 6 days a week. During the second week of this challenge I rehomed my dog, and I realized that completing 13,000 steps a day was fairly easy because of how much time I spent walking him everyday. Afterwards, I found myself barely reaching 10,000 steps a day. In order to achieve my goal, if I did not have 15,000 steps before going to bed I would walk around the house or walk up and down the stairs until I hit 15,000.
