Some players came into town and Hamlet tells them to put on a show just how Hamlet’s father explained to him how he was killed. If Claudius looks uncomfortable or leaves, there is no doubt that he is guilty of killing the king. Hamlets anxiousness about his father’s death is major factor that drove him insane. Hamlet is disgusted in the incest and the fact his mother married him so quickly after the death that he becomes completely insane. Hamlet was so disgusted he sarcastically said to his friend Horatio “Thrift, thrift, Horatio. The funeral baked meats did cold furnish forth the marriage tables” (i.ii.187-188). When Hamlet sarcastically says this, it shows how he is upset with what is happening is his life. It also shows just how close the funeral and marriage were to each other that the foods could be used for both events. Hamlet is so nauseated with the marriage between them he says to his mother, ‘“A bloody deed- almost as bad, good mother, as kill a king and marry with his brother”’ (iii.iv. 34-35). This quote is an example of how disappointed hamlet is in his mother for marrying Hamlet’s uncle after he killed her husband. When a person has this many problems it is hard to handle and your mind gets overloaded with stress. During this section of the play, Hamlet is showing just how insane he is. He accidently kills the father of Ophelia but feels no remorse. His actions also cause Ophelia to go crazy which ends up creating a chain
