According to the Census Bureau recently released data from the 2013 American Community Survey (ACS) this data shows approximately” 61 percent speak other languages at home instead of English” it has increase over the years. The most frequent languages are Spanish, Chinese and Arabic, are the most common languages spoken in America “one in five U.S residents speaks a foreign language at home”. Census Bureau shows “a record of 61.8 million U.S. residents (native, legal immigrants and illegal immigrants) spoke a language other than English”. As the populations has increase throughout the years many people find this normal speaking different languages not just English but also learning other languages some jobs even offer a better pay if you speak more than one language. Some of the factors I believe is that English wouldn’t be the official language for United States because many of us speak other languages in fact the United States doesn’t have origin language only the federal government official language is English. As the America was forming the founding father wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Bill Rights in English but this wasn’t the official language they had. As one the common language that I thought it was fascinating is Spanish many people speak Spanish in the U.S. specially in the western states and some parts of the eastern states. According to Pew Research Center “approximately 37 million speakers Spanish is by far the most spoken non-English language in the United States among people of ages 5 and older it’s one of the fastest growing language”. In the 1980 there were only 11 million Spanish speakers primarily Hispanics immigration and the population growth had made this increase throughout the years. Also many shows in television are televise in Spanish which in fact have more ratings and beat their English counterpart. But what is the future for Spanish? Would it keep increasing or would it decrease in this next few years? Many of us ask this type of question because not all languages increase most decrease throughout the years. According the U.S. Census Bureau the Spanish would increase between 39 million and 43 million by the year 2020. Many programs also have the choice to have it in Spanish or English as before this programs wouldn’t exist but as it develops there starting to have this option. As some schools in the U.S. require to learn a second language many offer Spanish as a common language example when I was in high school it was
