The task of finding a discourse community and figuring out when to observe seemed daunting at first. I thought and thought, then remembered that I know one of the elementary teachers at my school and contacted her. She was excited to have the opportunity to see me again and we setup dates for me to observe her sixth-grade class. Finding a way to organize my observations was difficult; I ended up observing a sixth-grade class without a previous idea for an organization method. I wrote down what I saw as I saw it and figured out what order I was going to use it when I wrote my outline for the body paragraphs. I was more comfortable with creating an outline, but still unsure how to outline my introduction and conclusion. Moving from one paragraph to the next, I could have done better in smooth transitions and shifting my topic. Also, I added extra information that didn’t help my essay like I originally thought it would My title and introduction paragraph were up to par and once I started writing the content came easily I was very pleased with my essay overall, and excited to use what I had learned to make a great Informative
