Narrative Essay About Traveling The World

When I was younger, I did not necessarily know what the earth holds, I was just used to my house and the places around me. I wondered what the universe had, the world’s whereabouts remained secret in my eyes until I could travel and explore. But, I have not been far outside of Minnesota. I have always wanted to travel the world, except my family does not like going farther than to work and back, it is just something they do not want to do. One day when I was about seven years old my mom and dad decided that it would be a good idea to make a family trip to look back on. They were having a hard time deciding on where to go because my dad wasn’t willing to travel too far from home, it is not his cup of tea. My dad’s friend came over while they …show more content…
I was so excited to go to Duluth that I could not sleep the night before, but once I finally fell asleep, I dreamt of all the things we could do there. The next morning when my mom woke me up I was a little bit upset because we were running late and we had to arrive at the hotel at one thirty but it was already eleven o’clock. We left immediately, and we showed up there an hour later than the expected arrival. As soon as we arrived and got our rooms and everything organized, everyone wanted to do something different. My older brother wanted to go to the pool, Dylan wanted to go to the see the ships, and I wanted to go to Gooseberry Falls. So we decided to do all of those and more, beginning with Gooseberry …show more content…
When we came back my older brother was the only one excited because that meant he could go swimming. We were all so hungry that we ordered room service, while my brothers were in the pool with their friends. As I sat impatiently waiting for the food, I watched all of the cars pass by. I wondered what it would be like to drive, what car I would drive, how fast I would go, where I would go, the possibilities are endless. After about twenty minutes we finally ate, I don’t think I have ever been happier to see food in my life after such a long day. When we all finished eating, it was about eight o'clock and we checked the weather outside and noticed it was no longer raining and Dylan yelled “you know what that means!” he was ready to go see the ships. It was the perfect time to see the ships because the sun was setting and it was beautiful. When I walked out of the doors of the hotel I felt a cool breeze rush past me, so I put on my sweatshirt my mom brought me. As soon as we made it to the ships, Dylan would not be quiet, he was too excited. We looked at the ships for a few minutes before we boarded one of

At first I was caught off guard a little, unsure if I heard them correctly or if it was a joke. Well it was no joke they told us that our father had called and wanted to know if we would like to see him. We sat down and had a long discussion about it. My parents didn 't want to push us into doing something we didn 't want to do but at the same time didn 't want to make it seem as if they did not want us to go. After a long talk my brother and sister decided that they wanted to see how it would go.…

As children, people partake in some of their favorite experiences. Many of those people as adults would love to go back to the places where their experiences happened. With time, their children can have the same experiences as their parents; however, the children’s experiences will differ because of conditions around them. In the short story, “Once More to the Lake”, a father compares his trips to the lake as a child to the trip he took with his own son.…

I knew I couldn’t eat all the food I brought with me because I wanted to save it for the rest of the trip. We stopped and ate a nice, filling meal at eight o’clock at Cracker Barrel, and after that, we were off on the road again. After not getting enough sleep the night before, I had to get some sleep as we continued on our way to Orlando. I found a great place to sleep that was not crowded or had a seatbelt sticking out of it like the chairs did. And that special place that I found was the floor of the bus.…

Excitement built up inside of me. We were about an hour away from my aunt’s house; I loved the thought of being with my family, but I also loved the daring and silly activities that we did when we got there. That summer, we had gone to a strawberry farm. I thought that it was going to be incredibly monotonous and absurd; but I was wrong. It was torrid and unbearable in the summer heat, and when we arrived there, I sat back and dreaded the walk, but the summer brought great things to that…

When we were about to leave a really bad storm hit us so we stayed another night in Florida. The power went out and it sucked because we couldn’t see anything and I was really hungry. When I looked out the window I saw a lot of trees shaking back and forth and my brothers could hear it. When the storm was over the next morning we left. My favorite part of the trip was either the view of the cities at night or when we went to…

I held my breathe and gave out a sigh hopping the next hours to Virginia to our hotel will be better. I found myself doodling penguins and groundhogs in my journal, until I saw we were driving on one of the biggest bridges I have ever seen the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. That bridge always freaked me out, because of the such small walls. I hated to look at the sea sickening water below us. “Hey dad, I hope we don’t fall off!!”…

It was the summer of 2007, and my parents thought that it would be a brilliant idea to go on a family road trip to some unknown location. This was the summer before I started high school and I wasn’t in the family bonding mood for a day let alone two weeks. With me being an only child, grandchild, and great grandchild, I was the only kid with five adults in a minivan. Why my parents thought that this was a good idea is still beyond my imagination.…

Anna Maria Florida It was a hot, humid Sunday in Anna Maria Florida. We were going to the beach with the 3 other families that went with us. It was about a five minute walk from our house we rented to the beach, which really felt like five hours because I was really excited. Once we FINALLY got there my friends and I decided to take our shoes off and find a perfect spot in the white hot sand to set up of chairs and umbrella. We took our clothes off because our swim suits were underneath and sprinted to the clear blue ocean.…

Throughout my entire academic journey, I have been through an abundance of ups and downs. Most of my academic success and triumphs began in high school. During elementary and middle school, my academic journey was very mediocre. During high school, I achieved many things such as placing first in the districts history fair, graduating with my A.A. degree in sociology, and being captain of my high school soccer team. I also faced some very devastating challenges involving myself and my family.…

My initial thought of going to Japan is “Are we going to see some awesome neon city in Akihabara or are we going to some rural area with some magnificent landscape that I have seen in the magazines?”. Surprisingly my dad told me we are going to stay in Japan for a month with my grandma and grandpa in Sapporo where many fresh meat is being made locally. Day before the journey begins, I realized this will be my first time riding a plane as well. This frightened me because I am afraid of heights. I fixed this by reading a book on how to not be afraid of heights while riding the airplane (This is funny because my dad thought I was ridiculous).…
