Personal Narrative: My First Softball Tournament

It was 2014 state was right around the corner. This was our second to last tournament of the year, it was a local tournament in Kimberly Wisconsin. This year we had a good year, we won quite often and we qualified for a lot of nationals but waking up that morning was different. This tournament weekend will forever remain in my mind.

I woke on Friday morning. The sun was shining, and the birds were chirping. Such a beautiful day for softball. I did not suspect what we would be in for. None of us did.

Our first game was at 1. Going into the tournament we were one of the youngest team there. We practiced a lot and we all put our dedication into this tournament. We all worked really hard for this day. An hour before our first game we practiced

When she was saying her words she was all smiles. She had a big grin on her face.
“I just want to let you all know that I am very proud of all of you guys. You all deserved this.” She said.
“I picked you guys to be on this team and when I picked you guys I knew something big was going to happen for you guys. I was right.” She said. We took so many picture. We took a group picture and a silly picture. I took a picture with my sister, my best friend, and my coach.

I think the second most exciting thing that happened that day was getting our trophy and stuff. That sounds selfish but I was super excited. We each got a big trophy that says “2014 Wisconsin State champions NSA tournament 12u Kimberly, WI.” We also got a medal and a badge that says the same thing on it.

I will never forget this moment. The moment that has brought me so many emotions and and taught me so many things. I am so thankful for everything that has happened to me in the year of 2014, but what I’m most thankful for is the fact that I got to be able to play softball that day and was able to share the experience of winning state with my 11 other best friends.
