Personal Statement: The Incoming Junior Year

Decent Essays
As the year comes to an end, all that is left is prepare for senior year and advise the incoming juniors of what to expect. First and foremost, to all of the incoming juniors I would like to advise that they enjoy their experience as a Junior but not stray from their education. Junior year is such an important year for college futures and career paths, that so much uncertainty leads students to stray down the wrong path. As long as they know their priorities, the incoming juniors will be able to enjoy their junior year. Me, as an incoming senior, want to take my own advice and enjoy the year while setting my priorities straight. Like most seniors, I am most looking forward to the senior activities just because of the feeling of accomplishment

Personal Statement Almost everyone had a rod in hand as they walked through the main street headed for the pier or docks to try and reel in a tasty morsel for dinner. Surrounded by family and relatives, I lived in a capsule of love. Little did I know that in several years, I would be on a plane bound for the United States, uncertain about my future but resolve in my dreams.…

There have been many highlights, but a few are being nominated for one of the top sports awards and having an awesome class and teacher. I’m proud of many things I've done this year, the main things i’m proud of are getting such high marks in most assignments and tests and getting nominated for one of the top sports awards. I have improved at lots of things but the main thing I have improved on is maths. A challenge for this year was getting work in on time.…

Going into my senior year, my twin sister and I decided to do all-star dance for a final time before we headed off to college. We really wanted to dance with our high school friends. If we didn't dance with them for our senior year, we would never get to dance with them again .While doing dance we also were doing cheer, participating in national honor society and student council, going to Wright State, and we had a job. It was a lot to balance but we thought we could do it.…

Often times, I've been dismissed in society just because of my cultural background, however, it will not determine my future- the school has made me passionate and grateful for everything I've received. School itself has made me excel, discover colleges, and expand my interests. My hard work has paid off as my grades led me straight to the group the top-performing students, especially in mathematics and science. During my school years, I have been praised for my hard work for either helping teach other students, managing the classroom and even recommending ways to improve the class itself. High school brought on difficult challenges, but when I experienced Advanced Placement, it changed my whole perspective, and with my first score it inspired me to take more AP classes regardless of the work effort, even the teacher…

During junior year winter break while browsing Georgia Tech website, I encountered two figures 32% and 25%, the year 2015 and 2016 freshman acceptance rates. The huge 7% rate drop challenged me immensely, making me uncomfortable, shattering my chance to be a proud Yellow Jackets. Descending acceptance rate inspired me to focus on what I wanted to accomplish, despite how uncomfortable I felt. As the spring semester progressed, I worked rigorously on my AP courses and scored perfect in SAT Math and SAT subject tests. Perseverance, motivation, and hard work helped me tremendously to maintain ascending GPA during the spring semester and boosted my confidence to continue a similar trend in the senior year.…

Personal statements are well known to many young adults in high school and older. Mainly because a personal statement is an important aspect of your high school career in order to be accepted to the college you would like to attend in the future. When I became a high school senior, I didn’t know what to do, what to write, or where to even begin with the two essays. I was lost and confused. I strongly believe that learning how to write and create my personal statement is extremely significant to me because it taught me how to be very detailed, yet short and straight to the point, speak with emotions without being so overly dramatic, and lastly, it taught me how to write a well structured essay.…
