Young teenage girls are wanting change for all the wrong reasons, all the cosmetic and unnecessary reasons. During this time girls are the most vulnerable hormones are off the charts insane so we girls take criticism very seriously. Girls are being pressured into such rash choices by the "bully" usually a girl or boy that the young girl feels intimidated by, and girls are get this change for the acceptance from others such as those bullies. Wanting this change is affecting their adult bodies in a negative way, young girls are rushing into adulthood too fast, they are not giving their adult bodies enough time to develop. For adolescence, the transition from childhood to adulthood, there is no clear endpoint but around the of age 16 for girls and 17.5 for boys (Coghlan). The female body is never fully developed as stated before and early surgery can affect parts that aren't developed fully. When you're only focused on your physical appearance, it really doesn't allow you to develop on the inside. "Growing up is learning to deal with the 'ugly duckling' stage, which all girls go through.
