One major issue in todays society is racism towards African Americans, specifically, African American athletes. As discussed in class, the sociological imagination is the application of imaginative thought to the asking and answering of sociological questions. In other words, sociological imagination is taking private troubles and connecting them to social/public issues, hence the topic of racism towards African American athletes.
