Romeo And Juliet: Comparing The Movie And The Play

My first difference I noticed between the movie and the play was the choice of weapons. In the play the characters fought with swords but in the movie they had guns. This is important because since there was a difference in time period from the movie to the play they had to switch the swords for guns.also the important e of switching the weapons of choice was because swords are more dangerous, when you had a sword you had to be t close range to kill r even fight somebody whereas the guns you just had to have good aimed you didn't have to worry about getting into close fights. Another reason there was a change in the choice of weapons was because n the Elizabethan era they didn't have the knowledge or the technology to make the guns. The weapons of choice is a big difference but the major scene of Juliet faking her death changed lot more due to the fact hat the movie is directed by omens different than the play.
Another difference that I noticed was with the scene of Juliet faking her death. In the play friar Laurence was not there when Juliet's body was discovered after she faked her death. This is important because friar he to hide the potion bottle so the family members didn't figure out that friar and Juliet had in place. In the movie Juliet wakes up before Romeo dies and the shoots herself but in the play she wakes up seconds to late and then stabs herself with Romeo's happy dagger. This is important because Juliet started to wake up and move When Romeo was talking to her but he was oblivious. Another reason this important is Juliet had just woke up from being asleep for twenty- four hours so she was groggy so she couldn't stop Romeo from taking the potion.
