Of course I was excited to play at the competition, but I was also nervous since we were going to Six Flags afterwards and I had a huge fear of heights.…

I joined the Chorus and the Vocal Ensemble at the high school and continued to try and better myself as a musician. My music department also offered me other musical opportunities such as festivals. I have attended several festivals such as the Lakes Region music festival and the All New England music festival. These festivals allowed me to come together with other students from different schools that loved singing and performing as much as I did. Every time I perform at one of these festivals I am overwhelmed by how beautiful music can be when everyone I am working with is just as passionate as I am about the work we are doing and also extremely talented.…

I can still clearly recall the first time I walked through the double doors that led to the spacious choir room. I remember walking in and admiring the many trophies and state championships that sat on the various cabinets along the outskirts of the room. For me, the decision to continue choir was a tough one. I mean afterall, in order to be academically competitive in this day in age, you need to load as many AP courses as possible into your schedule right? It became abundantly clear that I wasn’t the only one that contained this ideology as only 12 students were enrolled in the freshman choir.…
