• Throughout my career as a Child and Youth Worker, I have written numerous reports to assist with placement options, services for a particular youth or child as well various supports that might be required for the young person to succeed. At the Children’s Aid Society, I was required to write Plan of Care and weekly and discharge reports on the child or youth in our care. This assisted us determine next steps and accurately documents the progress for any child/youth while they were at our facility. Within Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board, Child and Youth Workers write case conference notes, year end reports, team meeting notes and overall reports for students, therefore documenting their progress and determining various supports that might be needed during school hours. Behaviour and safety plans, are additional reports we develop in collaboration with the school team, to ensure we are maintaining both the well being of the student but also the staff in the school.

While working at DPCDSB I created, implemented and initiated group life and social skills for adolescent teen boys that were diagnosed with Autism, we working on hygiene, having a conversation, cooking skills, how to behave in community places and taking public transit. Some other programs that I ran were Superflex, Zones of Regulations and the Circles program in assisting the students to cope with everyday life. When I worked at Family Guidance group home I initiated a group of youth that would create crafts while discussing their emotions. At C.A.S. we ran weekly sessions on different topics that would support the youth in the home, such as stress reduction, sleeping habits, general hygiene and trust
