A good example of a static character would be Rosicky in “Neighbour Rosicky”, by Willa Cather. Rosicky would be static because he doesn’t change. Rosicky is the same through the story. His life doesn’t change when he hears about the bad news that he got from the doctor. He simply just ignores it and stays happy like he always is. Rosicky always in the story remained calm and sweet and trustful. Unlike Polly he saw her immediately as her daughter, Polly had to gain more trust to think the same way Rosicky does about her being his father. Rosicky never stopped working even when he was told to, throughout the story Rosicky keeps on working and being happy while doing it. This is why Rosicky would be a static character and he plays in the story as a static
